The Kremlin recalled the Only Legal Basis for the settlement in Karabakh

There are no other legal bases for resolving the situation on Karabakh, except for trilateral agreements between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation. RIA Novosti writes.

“The solution of the existing problems between the two countries and the possible development of some joint actions and steps aimed at reducing tension in the region, in the first place, of course, is possible on the basis of those trilateral documents that were signed together with Russia. So far, no other there are no legal foundations that would contribute to the settlement,” Peskov said. He noted that so far these tripartite documents have absolutely no alternatives.

“Of course, any help that can help in a settlement on this base can be welcome, but we also know that there are various attempts that blur the basis for a settlement, which in the long run may not produce results. Let’s hope that in this case This is the first case,” Peskov added.

Earlier, the Heads of the Foreign ministries of Armenia, the US and Azerbaijan discussed security issues in the South Caucasus and the settlement of relations between Yerevan and Baku in Washington . The humanitarian situation that has developed as a result of Azerbaijan blocking the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia with Karabakh was touched upon.
