Proceedings against Azerbaijan in the case of the shooting of 73 and 25-year-old Armenians in Hadrut begins at the ECHR

Human Rights Defender Artak Zeynalyan believes that the urgent notification of the European Court of Human Rights to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe regarding Azerbaijan cannot remain without consequences. The notice requires monitoring that Azerbaijan fulfills the ECHR decision to unblock the Lachin Corridor, 1lurer.am reports.

It was accepted by the European Court in December 2022. Baku, in addition to not unblocking the only road connecting Artsakh and Armenia, also submitted an application to apply an intermediate measure against Armenia. The Court rejected Azerbaijan’s request, leaving the decision against Baku unchanged.

Zeynalyan informs that the proceedings against Azerbaijan in the case of the shooting of 73-year-old Benik Hakobyan and 25-year-old Yuri Adamyan in Hadrut during the 44-day war begins in the ECHR. Those cases of extrajudicial executions that took place on 29 September, 2020, received a great international response. The video shows the Azerbaijanis capturing them and then killing them.
