The Russian Foreign Ministry appealed to Yerevan regarding the ban on the entry of Zatulin and Simonyan to Armenia

Moscow appealed to Yerevan through diplomatic channels for the approval and clarification of the ban on entry to Armenia to Konstantin Zatulin, the First Deputy of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, and Margarita Simonyan, the Editor-in-Chief of RT. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova announced.

“We accepted such statements or messages with bewilderment… and immediately turned to the Armenian side through diplomatic channels for official confirmation and clarification,” Zakharova said during the briefing.

It became known earlier that on 25 October, the RA National Assembly sent a letter and informed Zatulin, “Your recent public statements against the Republic of Armenia harm the development of friendly and allied relations between our countries. In this sense, your future visit to the Republic of Armenia is considered undesirable,”

Later, Margarita Simonyan said that her entry to Armenia was also banned.
