Conflicts are flaring up, which threaten the security of all CIS members: Putin

The level of conflicts in the world and in the territory of the CIS remains very high, new threats to collective security are emerging, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of the CIS member states.

“The potential for conflicts throughout the world, as well as in the region, remains very high. New threats and challenges to collective security are emerging. First of all, it is a result of the sharp escalation of the geopolitical confrontation,” Putin said.

He also drew attention to the “color revolutions” provoked by the West, he emphasized that some countries use the tactics of blackmail, pressure, and intimidation in almost the entire territory of the CIS, where conflicts flare up.

“Attempts to implement the scenarios of “color revolutions” do not stop, the “map” of nationalism and extremism is being actively used, armed conflicts are igniting, which are a direct threat to the security of all CIS members,” Vladimir Putin said.

According to the Russian President, the world is becoming multipolar, but some countries continue to oppose it.

“The world is changing before our eyes and is becoming truly multi-polar, but some representatives of the international community are trying to preserve their shaky hegemony at all costs, widely use political, military, economic and informational tools and other methods aimed at disrupting the mechanisms of strategic stability, imposing unilateral sanctions on those who disagree with their policies” Putin said.
