The delegations will try to organize a meeting of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia: Volodymyr Zelensky

In talks with the Moscow delegation, Kiev representatives should make every effort to organize a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“The representatives of our delegations communicate in video format every day, in front of our delegation there is a clear task – to do everything so that the meeting of the presidents takes place, a meeting which, I am sure, people are waiting for.

“We realized that this is a difficult but necessary path. Our goal is for Ukraine, in this difficult negotiation work, to get the necessary result that we, the world, security, need in order to have normal and effective guarantees.” he said in a video message.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the dialogue between the representatives of the Kiev and Moscow will continue on Monday in the form of a video conference.

On 10 March, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba in Antalya, Turkey. After the conversation, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin never refuses contacts, but they should not be an end in themselves, but a way to fix concrete agreements.

It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The US and the EU have assessed Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
