We urge the population to refrain from panic: Security Council of Artsakh Republic

In recent days, the active aggressive behavior of the enemy on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact has been demonstrated by the firing of firearms of the Azerbaijani Defense Army on the positions located near different settlements, the Security Council of the Artsakh Republic reports.

“The use of grenade launchers has already been added to such armed provocations.

We emphasize that the civilian population has been chosen as the target of hostile acts of ceasefire violation, aiming to cause panic.

In order to stop further developments of the provocations, the Security Council office cooperates with the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in Artsakh. Urgent measures are taken to force the enemy to adhere to the ceasefire agreements.

At the same time, the information spread on Azerbaijani media platforms, according to which the Russian peacekeeping force is withdrawing some of its forces from Artsakh to move to Ukraine, does not correspond to reality. The Russian peacekeeping force stationed in Artsakh continues to carry out its mission in accordance with the provisions of the 9 November, 2020 trilateral declaration.

We urge the population to refrain from panic moods. The situation is fully controlled by the authorities of the Artsakh Republic and the Russian peacekeeping troops,” the statement reads.
