“House rents are being cut, there’s no work, our whole family depends on my son’s job”: forcibly displaced

Pavel Poghosyan was forcibly displaced from the Republic of Artsakh. He says that in 2020 he was also forced to leave Artsakh for a short time, but they returned again.

Recalling the nine months of the blockade, he says they lived like everyone else, trying to work. On September 19, 2023, when the enemy started another aggression, he was at his workplace.

“I came home, my son was in service, I took the children and neighbors to the basement. After a few hours, it calmed down and the shooting stopped. Everyone started to come out. We also went from the village to Stepanakert, stayed for two days and then left. They stopped us everywhere, Russians in one place, Azerbaijanis in another. They checked our passports, verified them, and we left,” Pavel Poghosyan told Iravaban.net as part of the series “Legal Issues of Artsakh Armenians in Armenia.”
