The night of 1 March passed in Kiev without big fights, the sale of alcohol was banned in the city. The city administration reported.
“On the night of 1 March, it was calm in the suburbs of the capital, several clashes took place.
The city services are now equipping the protective structures of the entrances of the capital. The city’s infrastructure works, electricity, heating and water are provided. Hospitals work hard, they are provided with everything needed,” the statement reads.
The sale of alcohol has been banned in the capital since 1 March, it will be removed from all store shelves.
“Tomorrow in the capital the sale of alcoholic beverages will be strictly prohibited. In general,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on 28 February.
He also addressed the owners of stores and pharmacies. “Do not raise prices to take advantage of the situation. Because this is no better than looting during the war,” the Mayor added.
