Yerevan’s “preconditions” for delimitation are unacceptable for Baku: Bayramov

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has stated that the preconditions set by Yerevan for starting the delimitation are unacceptable for Baku.

“The Minister noted that Azerbaijan attaches importance to cooperation with the OSCE and joint projects with the organization, in particular, on the development of transport links, green energy, and environmental issues. At the same time, Bayramov expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in the OSCE’s participation in projects related to the current post-war period, in particular, the construction and reintegration processes in the region,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan stated in the National Assembly yesterday that the Armenian side had handed over a package of measures aimed at settling the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border to the Russian side and through their mediation also to the Azerbaijani side. Now official Yerevan is waiting for a response.

“All I can say is that they stem from our common, pre-conceived concept of mirror withdrawal of troops, which always has been voiced before by the Government and the Prime Minister, and the creation of additional security mechanisms. The presented package envisages detailed mechanisms, as a result of the operation of which no village, road, etc. will be left unprotected. Of course, I cannot reveal many details, because they are under discussion. All I can say is that we are talking about the Soviet borders as a basis for accepting that process.”
