The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran discussed the relations between the two countries

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian held a telephone conversation.

The Press Service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.

During the telephone conversation the parties discussed the current state of relations between the two countries.

The importance of mutual respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the countries was stressed. The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that there are long-term and stable relations between Baku and Tehran. Hussein Amir Abdullahian noted that misunderstandings in the relations between the two countries should be prevented, noting the importance of developing ties. Tehran hopes to find a solution to the transit problem as soon as possible.

The ministers invited each other to Tehran and Baku.
