Armenia has filed an interstate complaint with the ECHR against Turkey

On 9 May, the Republic of Armenia filed an interstate complaint with the European Court of Human Rights against the Republic of Turkey for violating conventions on recruiting Syrian mercenaries during the 44-day war, and transferring them to Azerbaijan, and providing military assistance to Azerbaijan, which led to violations of the Convention. The representative office of the RA at the ECHR reported.

“In particular, the Armenian Government alleges that Turkey has violated the rights of the people of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia to life, freedom from torture and inhuman treatment, inviolability, property, private and family life, and a number of other rights.

“The Government has provided extensive evidence of Turkey’s recruitment and transfer of Syrian mercenaries from the Syrian Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the supply of military equipment, weapons and ammunition to the Azerbaijani armed forces, and involvement in the conflict by other means,” the statement said.
