The Kremlin denied the claims of the Azerbaijani side about the use of “Iskander” in Artsakh

“The Iskander missile systems were not used during the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, and this was confirmed, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian President said.

“No, as far as I understand, this is new information. I do not know whether it was reported through the military, whether our military has any detailed information about this. This, of course, is more of their prerogative,” Peskov said, answering a question. Does the President know about the message of the Azerbaijani side about the discovery of a Russian fragment of the Iskander missile in the zone of the Karabakh conflict?

To clarify whether Iskander missiles were used during the conflict, Peskov replied: “Do you remember the story with Iskander, that they were not used during the conflict. This was confirmed.”

It should be reminded that on 2 April, the remains of “Iskander” missiles were demonstrated in Baku. Idris Ismaylov, a spokesman for the Azerbaijan Territorial Demining Agency, said they were found in Shushi on 15 March.

According to him, at the moment the modification of the missiles is being clarified, the search for the rocket engines continues.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that the third president Serzh Sargsyan should answer why the “Iskander” fired did not explode or exploded, for example, by 10%. Pashinyan noted that the accusations of the third president Serzh Sargsyan about the unused “Iskander” are directed at him.

On 25 February, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Armenian side did not use Iskander-E missile systems during the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had denied the use of weapons as well.
