The Czech Republic will close its borders on 16 March, banning tourists from entering and the citizens from leaving the country.

Starting 16 March, Czech citizens and those with residence permits will not be allowed to leave the country and non-residents will be denied entry.

As of 13 March, there were 117 cases of coronavirus infection in the Czech Republic, two of which were in serious condition. A total of 2353 people have undergone a coronavirus test. Due to the rapid spread of coronavirus in the republic, the Czech government declared a state of emergency on 12 March.
