Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan released a statement saying:

“During the past two days, several hundred units of smartphones were discovered at the troops during the preventive work of the RA Armed Forces Command and the RA MoD. They will all be handed over to the parents of servicemen.

Once again we urge the servicemen and their relatives to refrain from unauthorized provision of phones to the servicemen. They endanger their lives, question the security of the unit, and create an unregulated atmosphere.”
