The grandson of Kazakhstan’s first president Nursultan Nazarbayev, Aisultan, has sought political asylum in Britain. He announced this on his Facebook page. Notably, he tried to commit suicide and was sentenced to one year probation for attacking a police officer in London.

According to him, he was pressured by his family. He stated that he had information on “large-scale corruption between the governments of Russia and Kazakhstan”. Aisultan said that he had given all the details in an interview with the British Times, which will be published soon.

Earlier, Aisultan announced that they want to kill him. In July 2019, Aisultan Nazarbayev tried to commit suicide.

Aisultan was given a one-year suspended sentence, 140 hours of community work, a fine of several thousand pounds and compensation for damages, and was ordered to undergo drug dependence treatment for at least 20 sessions.
