Vaghinak Margaryan, the father of 26-year-old parturient Mary Margaryan, who has died recently, today told the journalists: “Both me and my wife suggested Shushanik Bakshyan doing a cesarean cession, but the doctor said no way”.
Marine Tovmasyan, lawyer and representative of the successor of the victim of the initiated criminal case said that the relatives of Mary Margaryan were being inquired. She also mentioned that the death case of the Parturient was unique, because her newborn baby had also died. She added that the gynecologist Shushanik Bakhshyan who had supervised the victim’s pregnancy and had not demonstrated a proper medical help, was claiming that there were no gynecological problems, the real sinner must be found. The lawyer also said that the doctor was involved in this case as a witness.
To the lawyers’ question whether there already were the results of Mary Margaryan’s dissection or not, Marine Tovmasyan answered that she did not manage to take the results, that had already been given to the forensic centre.
Notably, several days earlier the health condition of 26-year-old parturient Mary Margaryan worsened in Shengavit medical centre and she was moved to Erebouni medical centre where she and her newborn daughter died. On 3 August a criminal case on the death of the parturient was initiated at the Investigative department of Erebouni and Nubarashen Administrative districts of RA Investigative Committee of Yerevan city. According to the Investigative Committee’s announcement parturient Mary Margaryan died as a result of the remorseless treatment of the doctor Shushanik Bakhshyan, supervising the pregnancy of the victim.
