On July 24, 2015 the trial of the case on the car accident happened at Horom crossway went on.
The car accident took place on November 10, 2014 in Shirak Marz, “Kamaz-53202” vehicle belonging to Manvel Vardanyan and “Gaz-32213” vehicle. As a result, Gazel was burnt out and 6 passengers died. Manvel Vardanyan has been accused.
After the trial started Liana Balyan, Manvel Vardanyan’s Defense applied a petition for appointing double complex examination.
According to the Defense, during the examination made by “The Expertise Center” NCSO M.Vardanyan’s testimony and the expert’s conclusions were deficient.
In addition, the Defense introduced the former and present positions of the “Stop” sign (placed 10m ahead); there were photos made the day of the accident and the day after. The Defense applied a petition to appoint new expertise and entrusted it to “The National Bureau of the Expertise.” The court decided to reject the petition.
The other petition regarded to the testimony given during the preliminary investigation of the injured person, Hasmik Hovhannisyan. The Defense said that the testimony of the injured person contradicts the testimonies of the other injured people. Although H. Hovhannisyan had Advocate R. Movsisyan, the latter applied to the court for carrying the trial without him. The court rejected this petition as well.
The third petition regarded to the testimonies of the witnesses A. Asatryan (mechanic in “Trans Akntart” LTD), S. Hakobyan (the passenger of the microbus) and A. Danielyan (laborer of “Kamaz” vehicle) considering it impermissible but this petition was also rejected.
Then the court passed to the civil suits. The first one was introduced the civil suit brought by “Trans Akntart” LTD which was AMD 4.000.000. The Accused M. Vardanyan and his Defense did not accept it considering it groundless.
Regarding to H. Hovhannisyan suit, the court considered it groundless and M. Chakhoyan was paid AMD 300.000 as an official representative of the injured person.
The Court closed the trial and passed to the court controversy. By the way, Gurgen Tumanyan whose father died at the accident asked for the driver’s daughter, Hasmik Mkrtchyan to change her priorities, saying: “Let’s be kind to the accused; he has two minors in his trusteeship.”
The next trial was appointed on August 4, 2015.
