Today, during the Government session, the former inhabitants of 33rd quarter whose apartments were alienated several years ago identified as public superior benefit gathered in front of the Executive.
They demanded a meeting with Prime Minister: “8 years ago they took our houses, destroyed the houses in Kentron and left nothing there”, – said one of them, Tamara Hakobyan.
Seeing that nobody reacts to their protests the citizens blocked Tigran Mets and Amiryan crossroad paralyzing the traffic for several minutes.
Policemen headed by Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan opened the street, promising to support the demonstrators.
Valery Osipyan even argued with Aleksandr Ghazaryan, the head of the Department for Reception of Citizens and Discussion of Petitions. Osipyan urged him to organize a meeting with citizens and a corresponding representative of the Government.
After blocking the street one of the women ran to the doors of the Government building, intending to enter and go upstairs to the Prime Minister’s room, but the police stopped her.
