We, the residents of Syunik village of Syunik Marz announce that the local police want to call to criminal liability the advocate Arshavir Khalapyan, just because he was involved in 10 cases trying to protect our and our relatives’ rights through the judicial means. Realizing that they cannot succeed in hushing Arshavir Khalapyan, they artificially initiated a proceeding against him and are trying to illegally imprison the advocate, depriving us of the right to defense. The police, investigators, Public Prosecutor’s Office and the court should have enough will and determination to find fair solutions to all the problems existing in Syunik village and introduced by our residents and to conduct fair judicial investigation of different civil, criminal and administrative cases investigated by the Court of General Jurisdiction in Syunik province, by the RA Administrative Court, the Civil Court of Appeal, the Criminal Court, and the Court of Cassation. We are completely satisfied with the work of advocate Arshavir Khaplanyan. We want him to continue protecting our rights and urge the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik marz Napoleon Ohanyan to stop criminal prosecution against the advocate.
