“Awful and concerning,” this was the RA Justice Minister Hovhanness Manukyan’s opinion, which he provided today after the Government session, about the killing near “Nubarashen” penetentiary. He said that he had no other answer.
The Minister stressed that the investigation will reply to all questions. One of the reporters mentioned that there was an armed guard in the penitentiary, as well as video cameras, and that the guard could have interfered in those actions. “They are not authorized to carry out functions that are inherent to the police or investigative services, and it did not happen in its territory,” Mr. Manukyan mentioned. He also failed to answer the question whether there cameras at the scene or not.
It was informed that shooting had taken place on 4 March at 13:59 near “Nubarashen” Penitentiary. The doctors of the Ambulance service found one corps at the site of the incident. Two persons were taken to the hospital but they died on the way. Criminal case has been initiated on the fact of shooting.
