Ms Harutyunyan did not answer to the question of the Competition committee which event in her opinion was the most unjust event that took place in Armenia. In the interview with the journalists she said that it was not always easy to find the answer to the question, even if you know it.
Speaking about 1 March 2008 events she said, “Organization of demonstrations, any form of expression of the opinion is acceptable. I cannot consider ant-democratic what happened before and after that. However, it was the first large-scale event our country’s history, where the people and the authorities were not prepared for such effects. That was really a lesson for both parties,” Ms Harutyunyan said and added that the problem was unsolved in the whole world. “If we follow the developments in the world, we shall see that all that happened during the mass protest actions is problematic in all countries. No state can be guaranteed that there will not be major conflicts. Our country was not ready to face such a problem then,” she said.
