The RA Prosecutor General’s Office informs:
“The RA and RF Prosecutor General’s Offices discussed the details of the case on the murder in Gyumri which took place yesterday. Both sides stressed that all the perpetrators the tragedy should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Valery Permyakov, the suspect, is a citizen of the RF and is under the supervision of the RF Law Enforcement Bodies, that is under the RF jurisdiction. Consequently the issue of passing Valeri Permyakov to the Law Enforcement Bodies of the RA is not discussed, considering the ban provided in Clause 1 of Article 61 of the RF Constitution, which provides that the RF citizen cannot be extradited to another state.
Similar provision is provided in Article 30.1 of the RA Constitution, which provides that a citizen of the Republic of Armenia may not be extradited to a foreign state.
The RA and RF Law Enforcement Bodies conduct the investigation, which will be carried out in close and active cooperation of the mentioned agencies.
The Armenian party is going to be consistent, so that all those responsible in committing the crime are punished as prescribed by law.”
