Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On September 9 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings, passed by voting the bills considered on the previous day, after which the deputies continued in the first reading to debate the bill “On Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements.”

Taking into consideration the importance of the issue, it was decided to debate in the second reading with special procedure during 24 hours.

Edmon Marukyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. The opinion of the RA Government was also positive, which presented the RA First Deputy of the Minister of Justice Arsen Mkrtchyan.

The NA deputies Mher Shahgeldyan, Gagik Jhangiryan, Tigran Urikhanyan, Hayk Babukhanyan, Koryun Nahapetyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Hovhannes Sahakyan and Edmon Marukyan expressed their viewpoints оn the adoption of the bill. In their final speeches Arsen Mkrtchyan and the NA deputy, the author of the bill Arpine Hovhannisyan touched upon the concerns voiced in the deputies’ speeches and expressed readiness to improve the bill based on the recommendations during the first to the second reading period.

Arpine Hovhannisyan in the first reading presented the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Compulsory Enforcement Service of Judicial Acts” authored by Arpine Hovhannisyan, Vahram Baghdasaryan and Hermine Naghdalyan.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Edmon Marukyan presented the endorsement of the Committee on the bill.

Presenting the Government viewpoint, Arsen Mkrtchyan noted that the executive body had submitted a series of editorial recommendations.

The debate of the issue will continue at September 10 sitting of the National Assembly.

The last hour of the sitting, according to the “NA Rules of Procedure,” was allotted to the deputies’ announcements.
