Why shouldn’t the Army vote in the military unite, so that in case of necessity it will be possible to find out the number of participants and the percentage of votes in favor of the Power?
Representative of the People’s Party of Armenia Felix Khachatryan asked at the discussion of the Draft Concept for Constitutional Reforms with the representatives of the political parties of Armenia, directing his question to Hrayr Tovmasyan, Member of the Specialized Commission on the Constitutional Amendments under the President of the Republic of Armenia.
“We all know that the Army provides 100% votes to the Power. It should be shown, so that the Power will be ashamed,” Felix Khachatryan said.
“Why shall the Power be ashamed? The fact that the army votes in favor of the Power shall not be a reason to be ashamed, just vice versa. But I do not think that it is a problem of constitutional solution. I can confidently say that I am not aware of any country I’ve ever seen anything like it,” Hrayr Tovmasyan said.
Later, Felix Khachatryan again responded, noting that everyone is aware how the commander leads everyone to vote, “the commander even checks in whose favor they voted. The Power shall be ashamed of this fact.”
