Tension grows in the National Assembly. Acting Speeker of the National Assembly Edward Sharmazanov said this after the information that Hrant Bagratyan, member of “Armenian National Congress” Faction and Ruben Hakobyan, Secretary of “Heritage” Faction pretend to this post.
Earlier, Galust Sahakyan, Head of the “Republican” Faction had informed about his intention to nominate for the post.
Notably according to the Law of the Republic of Armenia on the Rules and Procedures of the National Assembly “The Chairperson of the National Assembly is elected by secret ballot by the majority vote of the total number of Deputies.”
