The Pope urged to celebrate Christmas without Excess

On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis urged Christians not to confuse Christmas with consumerism, but to celebrate the birth of Christ by sharing with those who are lonely and in need.

Addressing the people gathered in St. Peter’s Square from the window of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, Francis congratulated on a holiday full of “warmth, attachment and moderation”.

The Holy Archpriest advised believers to refrain from excesses and reminded of the ongoing armed conflicts around the world.

“We remember our brothers who are suffering from the consequences of military operations.

Our thoughts are with Palestine, Israel, Ukraine. We also remember those who suffer from poverty, hunger, and slavery,” he said.
