Ruzanna Balasyan, who was forcibly displaced from the occupied Republic of Artsakh, told in the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net, that they lived side by side with the enemy in fear for three years.
Speaking about the conditions of the blockade, she siad that they had a very difficult time.
“In the end it was much worse, there was no coffee, and we made coffee with peas. It was very bad. There was no work,” she says.
Our interlocutor says that on 19 September, when the enemy unleashed another aggression, Azerbaijani scouts entered their village; there were shootings in the village.
“Though the fight lasted only for one day, but it was terrible. We left the house on 25 September, and arrived at three in the morning on the 27th. We walked hungry and thirsty for two days. We reached Goris, they gave us food. At this age, it is not good to lose the house and to leave. We have left everything, which we earned with difficulty. We have only brought some clothes. In addition, we arrived and we are alive,” Mrs. Ruzanna noted.
She mentioned that they are not ready to return to Artsakh and live there under the conditions of reintegration, which the Azerbaijani side has suggested.
