68-Year-Old Arzik Aghasyan was able to bring only her Fallen Grandson’s Photo from Artsakh

Arzik Aghasyan told in the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net that she was displaced from the Martakert region.

After the attack of Azerbaijan on 19 September, she went to Stepanakert with her family. “The Turk is the most dangerous person.”

The 68-year-old woman spent those few days in Stepanakert in the basement before moving to Armenia. “It’s good, that I managed to take the documents. I also brought the photo of my child (grandson). He died during the 44-day war, on 22 October.”

She said that she has a lot to say, she just cannot express herself. They met Azerbaijanis on Hakari Bridge. “I know Turkish, but I was afraid to speak it.”

Arzik Aghasyan has been living in one of Armavir’s shelters for a month. House rents are high; she and her daughter cannot find a house.
