Zaruhi Hayrapetyan was born in Yerevan, but got married and moved to Artsakh. She told in the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net she told that her family was displaced from Haterk.

She was not in Artsakh during the attack of Azerbaijan on 19 September, but her husband and sons were there. “Just on that very day I had a stroke, I was in the hospital.”

The relatives told that Azerbaijan’s aggression started from Martakert. Mrs. Zaruhi’s condition worsened, and she was brought to the hospital. “And there I had my third stroke.”

The woman’s family members crossed the Hakari bridge in fear, the children were hungry.

Zaruhi Hayrapetyan’s family left their 3-story mansion, animals, poultry, and a large garden in Artsakh. “Everything was repaired; everything was put in place by us.”

The woman excludes living together with Azerbaijanis in the territories occupied by Azerbaijan.

“My husband’s cousin died in the positions. The other cousin was beheaded in the same Haterk village. When ours left, the boys stayed at the positions. He was 23 years old. They are murderers, bloodthirsty people. They are violent people. We don not want to see the blood of Christian people,” she said.

Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net is aimed at collecting the memories and testimonies of citizens forcibly displaced from Artsakh occupied by Azerbaijan, about the genocide of the Armenians of Artsakh committed by Azerbaijan, atrocities, the days of war, the path of deportation, etc.
