Grigory Karasin, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, drew attention to the statement about the possible disconnection of Russian TV channels in RA.

He called such statements strange and reminded that recently at the Russian-Armenian media forum held in September, issues of broadcasting of Russian and Armenian TV channels were discussed.

“I do not know if this is an attempt to score political points on the anti-Russian wave or not. I am sure that such fillings will not find support in Armenia and will not undermine the foundations of centuries-old friendship between our peoples for the benefit of some political conjuncture,” Karasin wrote in the Telegram channel.

Karasin promised to “carefully follow the developments”.

Let’s remind that Lusine Badalyan, Deputy of the “Civil Contract” Faction, stated that it is necessary to turn off the Russian TV channels due to “anti-Armenian content”, which poses a threat to the country’s national security.
