80 MPs signed the petition submitted to the Constitutional Court with the proposal of impeachment Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili. Aliq.ge reported.
On 11 September, it became known that the Committee on Procedural Issues and Regulations of the Parliament confirmed the authenticity of the signatures, which is a necessary condition for sending the document to the court.
To remind: The proposal to impeach the president was decided on 1 September, at the session of the Political Council of the ruling “Georgian Dream” Party.
In case of a positive conclusion of the court, 100 deputies’ votes are needed to remove the president, which the majority of “Georgian Dream” does not have.
