The People of Artsakh “squeeze” Salt from the Rock: Artsakh is under Siege for 268 Days

Artsakh has been under siege for 268 days.

As a result of Azerbaijan’s illegal actions, Artsakh is cut off from the world and mother Armenia. It is not possible to send food, medicine and basic necessities to Artsakh.

Azerbaijan has blocked all kinds of cargo and humanitarian transportation to Artsakh for about three months.

The 360 tons of humanitarian aid Armenia sent on 26 July is still in Kornidzor.

However, the spirit of struggle, the desire to live and the strength to resist the enemy have not yet been surrendered in Artsakh.

People in Artsakh, deprived of everything possible, have started making salt of their own production.

In a conversation with Iravaban.net , Nelli Grigoryan from Artsakh said that today, on 5 September, she prepared salt for the first time.

“Let me tell you this is the first time I am making salt out of necessity. It turns out to be a very high quality salt,” she said.

Our interlocutor mentioned that she also gives the salt she made to those who need it.

Nelly Grigoryan says that salt is obtained from stones. “Salt stones are black in color, we grind them, wash them, then leave them to dissolve in water for a day, and the soil settles under them, we squeeze the clean water, put them on the fire and boil. The water evaporates, the salt remains.”

She said that it turns out to be ordinary salt and has the taste of salt that we all know.

The people of Artsakh fight in every way, they do not give up and even “squeeze” salt from the rock.
