“In order to prevent the transfer of manpower, ammunition, mines, as well as other military equipment from Armenia to illegal Armenian armed groups in the territory of Azerbaijan, a border checkpoint was set up at the entrance to the Lachin-Stepanakert road on 23 April at 12:00 p.m.,” the State Border Service of Azerbaijan announced.
It is reported that they informed this to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the Russian-Turkish Monitoring Center.
It became known earlier that the Azerbaijani side once again grossly violating the provisions of the 2020 Tripartite declaration and continuously providing misinformation regarding the transfer of weapons from Armenia to Artsakh, the Azerbaijani side closed the Hakari bridge on the Artsakh-Armenia border, which is located in the “Lachin Corridor”,in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops. Artsakh Info Centre reports.
The authorities of the Artsakh Republic strongly condemn another provocation by Azerbaijan, considering it a criminal step aimed at deepening the blockade of Artsakh and ethnic cleansing, which violates both the Tripartite declaration, the binding decision of the International Court of Justice of the UN and other fundamental norms of international law.
