The Hearing in the Case of Gagik Beglaryan’s Property of Allegedly Illicit Origin has been postponed

The court session in the case of confiscation of the property of allegedly illegal origin of the former Mayor of Yerevan, former Minister of Communications and Transport Gagik Beglaryan, has been postponed.

Iravaban.net learned that the Chairperson of the court session, the Judge of the Anti-Corruption Civil Court, Narine Avagyan, has health problems, and that is the reason the session will not take place .

Nelli Ter-Torosyan, prosecutor of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin represents the plaintiff in the case.

Let’s remind that according to the lawsuit, the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia submitted a request to the court to confiscate in favor of the Republic of Armenia from Gagik Beglaryan, former Mayor of Yerevan, former Deputy of the RA National Assembly, former RA Minister of Transport and Communications, and 3 related persons, namely:

  • 33 apartments, areas, buildings, parking lots located in Yerevan, 11 of which are located in Northern Avenue, 7 in Khorenatsi Street, 3 in Arshakunyats Avenue, 2 private houses in Azatutyan Avenue, 2 areas in Tamanyan Street, 2 (building and parking lot) in Teryan street, as well as real estates located in other administrative districts of Yerevan, 2 plots of land in Kotayk marz (Tsaghkadzor community) and 1 plot of land in Ararat (Sis community), 1 vehicle (MERSEDES-BENZ S600L car ), and in case of impossibility, their average market value, which totals  to AMD 10,704,483,825  .
  • 10 the right to participate in legal entities,
  • 8 right to demand the unreturned part of the loan  in the amount of AMD 1,879,759,719,
  • AMD 882,745,274,9  as the balance of the income received from the use of property of illicit origin, as well as the proceeds from the sale of property,
  • AMD  3,317,008,604 , which is not justified by the legal income of a person, has an illicit origin and cannot be confiscated based on Part 4 of Article 20 of the Law on Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin.
