The world has come close to the threat of the third world war. Vice-Chairman of the Security Council, the Chairman of “United Russia” Dmitry Medvedev announced on Monday, 23 January, “RIA Novosti” reports.

According to the politician, people in the world should understand that the special military action in Ukraine has become a forced and extreme measure. Medvedev explained that the operation is a response to the preparation of aggression by the USA and its satellites.

“Well, it’s obvious that the world really came close to the threat of World War III because of what was happening,” he said.

Earlier, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated that the conflict in Ukraine can be considered the third world war.

Let’s remind that on 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special operation in Donbass. In this way, according to him, Moscow responded to the requests of the leaders of Donetsk and Lugansk for military assistance.
