According to the report published by the “We will stop the killing of women” platform, 334 female representatives were killed by men in Turkey in 2022. 154 of them were killed by their husbands. 245 women were killed under suspicious circumstances, Ermenihaber reports.
209 of the women were victims of domestic violence in their own homes, 46 in the street, and 16 in the workplace.
The report highlights the worrying fact that in many cases women did not receive the necessary attention and protection even when they turned to the state authorities. The latter’s negligence and lack of work cost the lives of dozens of women.
