The United Nations has reported that it has received information about executions of prisoners by Ukrainians

The United Nations has received credible information that the that executions may have been applied to prisoners of war detained by Ukraine. Farhan Haq, Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary General, stated at a briefing held on 15 October, “TASS” reports.

“As for the treatment of prisoners detained by the Ukrainian authorities, [head of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine Matilda] Bogner said that the mission received credible allegations of executions, as well as several cases of torture,” she said.

Hack added that Bogner had interviews with 159 POWs detained by the Russian Federation and 175 POWs detained by Ukraine. According to the UN official, Bogner also said that Ukrainian prisoners of war who were held captive in the Russian Federation accused Russia of torture and ill-treatment.
