Russia is considering settlement issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, proposing to discuss this topic.
“Naturally, we always pay attention to issues related to the regulation of the situation in the region. I hope that we will use this opportunity to discuss all issues again and compare watches,” Putin said.
Putin noted that there are many questions; there is always something to talk about.
“Russia remains one of the leading trade and economic partners. Trade turnover is growing… Our economic operators have invested 4.5 billion dollars in the economy of Azerbaijan,” he added.
It should be noted that Putin and Aliyev met recently, on 7 October, at the informal summit of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg. A little while ago, they met in Samarkand within the framework of the SCO summit. Then Putin expressed concern regarding the escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, although he noted that the escalation has been stopped.
