“Russia is ready to welcome any attempt to contribute to the settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian President said on 19 September, commenting on the visit of Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to Yerevan.

“Everything that is not in words, but in action, and not loud, not populist, but in fact, quiet and practical, can contribute to the regulation of relations, can contribute to the stabilization of the situation at the border. All this can be welcomed. Can such noisy actions and statements really contribute to normalization? Let’s see, everything will become clear in time,” Peskov said.

Let’s remind that Nancy Pelosi arrived in Yerevan on an official visit on 17 September. The Speaker of the House of Representatives was accompanied by the Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commercial Affairs of the US House of Representatives Frank Pallone, members of the House of Representatives Anna Eshoo and Jackie Speier.
