The State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich, on behalf of the President of Belarus, presented to the members of the Collective Security Council the point of view of the Republic of Belarus regarding the developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, BELTA reports.
“Our country has always offered to proceed from the non-alternative peaceful settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, exclusively through political and diplomatic methods. The created situation requires careful study.
We suggest steps that can be taken quickly. Among them, the visist of the CSTO Secretary General to the conflict zone to prepare a detailed report to the heads of state. As well as the creation of a working group from the staff of the CSTO Secretariat and the Joint Headquarters to analyze the situation and develop proposals,” he noted.
Let’s remind that on 13 September, from 00:05, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces started to fire intensively from artillery means, large-caliber firearmss in the direction of Goris, Sotk and Jermuk in the direction of the Armenian positions. The enemy also uses UAVs.
The situation in some parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border continues to be tense as of 18:00. The enemy is trying to secure a positional advance throughout the day, particularly in the direction of Nerkin Hand, Verin Shorzha, Artanish and Sotk, using special purpose units. The RA Armed Forces continue to carry out the combat tasks set before them in full scope.
Data on the losses of the Armenian side are being verified. As of now, the Armenian side has 49 victims confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
