The President of Turkey had a telephone conversation with Joe Biden

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Joe Biden had a telephone conversation.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidential Administration, issues related to Turkey-US relations as well as regional issues were discussed during the conversation.

Speaking at a briefing at a Turkish airport before leaving for the NATO summit in Madrid, Erdoğan said that Biden had offered to meet him tonight or tomorrow, to which he responded positively.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor  Jack Sullivan said that Biden could meet with Erdoğan at the NATO summit to discuss Turkey’s concerns over Sweden and Finland’s membership in NATO.
