During the press conference held in Freedom Square, the leader of the “Witth Hnor” faction of the National Assembly, the leader of the “Homeland” Party Artur Vanetsyan, referring to the statement made by the National Security, mentioned that he always takes the statements of that structure seriously.
He expressed hope that the NSS takes seriously what is happening in Armenia today, particularly in Yerevan. Artur Vanetsyan mentioned that he thinks the NSS will act legally and equally towards everyone.
“If the ցօնցեռնս voiced by the NSS really exist, I will only be happy for the NSS to reveal that crime and I am ready to support the detection of that possible crime myself,” he said.
It should be reminded that in its 30 April statement, the NSS stated that at present there are real dangers of organizing and carrying out mass disorders in the Republic of Armenia, so it urges not to pay tribute to possible provocations, to show high civil responsibility, to refrain from public hatred. from inadmissible practices of spreading hatred, inciting violence in public speeches or uttering expressions perceived as violence.
Artur Vanetsyan mentioned that he wants to advise the authorities: “I know the internal discussions about what happened before spreading this announcement. You are right that you are worried, you are right that you are concerned, you are right that you have very little time left and the people will achieve the removal of the authorities in a very short time through peaceful acts of disobedience and great public reproach. But if there are provocations, if there is disproportionate use of force or violation of the rule of law, everyone will be held accountable. This word of the people, this awakening can no longer be stopped by any power structure. The moment that they could have stopped has already passed, it is already a force and tomorrow at 4 o’clock, all the people who were a little skeptical will be convinced of it.”
Answering the question who will lead the opposition, he mentioned that it has not been discussed yet.
“In reality, we are really fighting not just for a change of government, but for one idea – to have a powerful country – Armenia, Artsakh and a dignified, well-living Armenian living in our countries.
Now shall that leader be me, you, Ishkhan Saghatelyan or another person, it has not been discussed at the moment. Tomorrow, the next day, when we feel that we are reaching the stage of who and what position should hold in the future government, we will definitely talk. Believe me, we have a staff base of professionals, we have a staff base that even the government does not have, but the foundations of Armenia are so shattered that we must include all the forces that are in power in the reconstruction of Armenia,” he said.
Artur Vanetsyan, speaking about the public discussion convened by the former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, said that he welcomes that initiative. As for whether it will be acceptable if Arman Tatoyan leads the country, Artur Vanetsyan said, “I consider Arman Tatoyan a literate, knowledgeable, patriotic man. I have known him for a long time, I have a very close, friendly relationship, I cannot answer at this moment whether I am ready or not, but I am ready to unite around anyone who will be able to solve the issue, including Arman Tatoyan.”
