Joe Biden to meet Ukrainian refugees in Poland

US President Joe Biden plans to meet with refugees from Ukraine during his visit to the Republic of Poland this week

He stated this at a press conference in Brussels, Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I plan to see these people, and I hope that I can meet with them,” – said the head of the White House.

He noted that for security reasons he could not say exactly where in Poland he intended to communicate with Ukrainian refugees. However, he expressed the hope that he would “see many of them.”

As Ukrinform reported, US President Joe Biden plans to pay a visit to Poland after meetings in Brussels on Thursday with world leaders in the NATO, EU and G7 formats. It is expected that there he will meet with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda and discuss issues of joint response to the humanitarian crisis, as well as other consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine.

It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
