Putin has set six conditions for meeting with Zelensky

Preparations are underway in Turkey for possible talks between Ukrainian, Russian Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, Hürriyet reports.

Turkish President’s Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin presented to the journalists the 6 conditions of the Kremlin, in which Putin will agree to talk to Zelensky.

Russia’s 6 conditions are below

1 – Neutral status of Ukraine, i.e. refusal to join NATO
2 – Demilitarization and guarantees of mutual security
3 – “Denatsification”
4 – Elimination of barriers to the use of Russian language in Ukraine
5 – “Recognition of the annexation of Crimea”
6 – Recognition of Donetsk և Luhansk Republics.

For his part, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky told CNN that he was ready for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but said that if the talks failed, “it would mean that this is World War III.”
