The Russian air force destroyed 62 Ukrainian military facilities overnight, including three command posts, and shot down six drones. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told reporters today, on 20 March, RIA Novosti reported .
“During the night, the army operative-tactical-aviation hit 62 military objects of Ukraine, including three command posts, one point of multiple missile systems, two depots of missile-artillery weapons, one depot of fuel, as well as 52 points of accumulation of military equipment,” Konashenkov said.
According to him, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down in the air near the village of Kokhannoe, a drone, including a Bayraktar TB-2 near Shibennoye, and a Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile “Tochka-U” in the Chistovodovka region north of Izumi.
It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.
The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
