The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Informational Policy, Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinshtein expressed hope that YouTube video hosting will not be blocked in Russia.
“I really hope that YouTube will not be blocked in Russia. At least there will be no complete blocking of the resource. In the end, our users will suffer first of all,” Alexander Khinstein wrote about this today, on 18 March, on his Telegram channel, TASS News Agency reports.
As we reported earlier, YouTube imposed restrictions on Russian users. The company started blocking Russian state media all over the world on 11 March, as well as stopped all methods of monetization in Russia.
It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.
The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
