As a result of the strike of the Russian Armed Forces on the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a large number of about 180 foreign mercenaries were destroyed. The official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov stated this at a briefing, RIA Novosti reports.
“On the morning of 13 March, the Russian armed forces attacked the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village of Starich, at the Yavorovsky military school, with high-precision long-range weapons. As a result of the attack, about 180 foreign mercenaries were killed. These facilities had foreign mercenary training and coordination points, as well as a base where weapons and military equipment supplied to women by Western countries were stored,” he said.
It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.
The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
