All attempts by Ukrainians to attack the Russian military with weapons will lead to a response, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian President warned, TASS News Agency reported.
“If someone attacks our military with a weapon, they will also be targeted, of course,” Kremlin spokesman told reporters on Thursday. Thus, he commented on the decision of the Ukrainian authorities, which allowed the residents of Ukraine to use weapons.
Peskov reminded that initially Putin called on everyone to lay down their arms, but stressed that the Russian military targets all those who show armed resistance.
It should be reminded that on the morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk Republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.
The US and the EU have assessed Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
