The evacuation of the civilian population of Mariupol is delayed due to the enemy shelling.
According to Ukrinform the Mariupol City Council reported in Telegram.
As the Russian side does not maintain the regime of silence, it continues to shell both Mariupol and its environs, due to security reasons, the evacuation of the population is delayed.
“We ask all the residents of Mariupol to disperse and go to shelters. Additional evacuation information will be published shortly. Negotiations are currently underway with the Russian Federation to establish a regime of silence to ensure the security of the humanitarian corridor,” the statement said.
The police will inform the residents of the city through loudspeakers.
It should be reminded that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation had announced:
“Today, on 5 March, at 10 a.m. Moscow time, the Russian side declares a state of silence and opens humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol and Volnovakha,” the Defense Ministry said.
