The Head of the Russian delegation provided details of the Russian-Ukrainian talks

After the end of the talks between Russia and Ukraine in Belarus, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who headed the Russian delegation, said that the parties had found several points by which they could predict common positions.

“The negotiations lasted about 5 hours. During that time, we went through all the items on the agenda in detail, found several items with which we can predict the common positions, and, most importantly, agreed to continue the negotiation process,” Medinsky said.

Medinsky noted that the next meeting will take place in the coming days on the Polish-Belarusian border.

“Until then, each of the delegations will consult with the country’s leadership in terms of negotiating positions,” the Russian presidential aide concluded.

It should be noted that today, on 28 February, negotiations between the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine started in Belarus. The Russian delegation is headed by Assistant to the President Vladimir Medinsky. Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky’s office stated that “the key issue in the talks is the immediate cessation of the ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.”

It should be reminded that Russia launched a military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine in the early morning on 24 February. In a television address to the Russians, President Vladimir Putin said that the circumstances “require decisive, urgent action from us, the Donbas People’s Republics have asked for help.” According to the Russian leader, the entire responsibility for the bloodshed will be on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He called on the Ukrainian military not to obey the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their weapons and go home. Later, the RF Ministry of Defense emphasized that the RF Armed Forces did not strike Ukrainian cities. The military infrastructure was damaged by high-precision weapons. According to the department, there is no danger to the civilian population. The Ministry of Defense added that the Ukrainian border guards do not show any resistance.
